Mary and Barry

They met during San Francisco's notorious 1967 Summer of Love. Barry donned socks with his Mexican leather sandals, and Mary proudly wore a tee knotted at her waist that said 'Make Love Not War'. They chatted until 11pm that first day, and as they were about to say their goodbyes, Barry got up the nerve to kiss her on a side street near Haight-Ashbury. That was the weekend their lives began together.

Over the years, they raised three children in a Maryland suburb, had one brief cancer scare eight years ago, have four grandkids spread out across two states, and after dedicating 43 years of his life to a manufacturing job, they are finally living the retired life they diligently saved for.
