Well hello again!

It has been a quiet winter here in Maine, and I’ve taken the last few months to think about all the things that are important to me and how I wanted to step into 2022.

I want to start by acknowledging that I’m deeply aware of all the suffering and sadness that is happening in our world - in many different countries. I want to be very honest with you - sharing joyful shopping ideas while so many people are hurting has been a struggle of mine.

While searching my heart, I came across a beautifully written piece that helped answer my struggle. I spent an hour trying to find the actual piece so I could share the exact quote and source, but it eludes me so I will have to paraphrase from memory:

The world is full of pain and injustice and yes it’s so important for us to do as much as we can to help people in need and to support important causes. However, we cannot solve suffering by suffering ourselves. Joy is an integral part of living fully and it’s also how we can honor all that we have been blessed with, even if it’s humble.

I hope you hear my heart in these words and it’s also my hope that I can add some joy to your life each week!
