Years ago, during a rainy Sunday, as I was curled up on the couch re-watching The Little Women (1949 of course), a brief moment in the movie stopped me. It captivated me. It made me rewind, listen, and rewind again, over and over.
The words never left me. They became me.
“You’ve always reminded me of a Sea Gaucho, strong and wild, fond of the wind and storm, dreaming of flying out to sea.” Beth to Jo - The Little Women
I’ve been pondering changing the name here for sometime, knowing it might not make sense to some, but it speaks so deeply to my soul and it must be. There will be more photo-stories coming, including new poems, prose and Maine seaside moments.
Thank you for being here.
Megan
I couldn’t find ‘sea Gaúcho’. But I like it! Change the name!! I am telling you, you need to do an online interview so we can all hear about your life and wisdom!!!
So lovely. I too live near the sea. I am in Port Townsend, Wa. Being near the salt water in this new season of life provides me with such calm and joy.
